Pollack will remain “fully engaged” until the search process is complete, the AHA said in a statement.

Before becoming CEO of the AHA in 2015, Pollack served for more than 20 years as the association’s executive vice president for advocacy and public policy. Pollack joined the AHA in the 1980s, first as vice president and deputy director of its Washington office, according to his LinkedIn.

“It has been an honor and privilege to have had the opportunity to represent the women and men of America’s hospitals who are passionate about their commitment to providing essential public services, keeping people healthy, and serving as a cornerstone of care for virtually every community in America,” Pollack said in a statement.

The hospital lobby represents nearly 5,000 hospitals, health systems, networks and other providers. More than 40,000 individual members are part of the AHA.
