The California Democratic Senator Adam Schiff has created a new legal defense fund in the midst of an investigation by the Ministry of Justice (DoJ) on his finances for alleged mortgage fraud.
Schiff, a long -standing opponent of President Donald Trump, could look at an prolonged legal struggle while the Ministry of Justice examines his real estate transactions on two properties of Maryland and California while he was used in the House of Representatives. On Thursday, the California Democrat created the “Senator Schiff Legal Defense Fund”, according to the internal Revenue Service. The Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed Ed Martin as a special prosecutor on August 8 to investigate the allegations of mortgage fraud. The director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Bill Pulte, returned the Schiff to the Doj in May for having allegedly distorted a house in Maryland as the main residence to obtain more favorable loan conditions. The Californian democrat also claimed a condo in Burbank, California, like his main residence during the same period, CNN reported for the first time.
Schiff’s lawyer, Preet Bharara, described the allegations of mortgage fraud as “in a transparent, stunned and long way”. Bharara is a frequent Trump critic who was dismissed by the president of his post of American lawyer for the South New York district in March 2017.

A great jury of Maryland is currently weighing whether to approve a criminal act on the allegations according to which the Democrat of California falsified the property files to obtain better loan conditions on a property of Maryland, reported the New York Post.
Trump has repeatedly asked that Schiff be continued on his real estate transactions.
“Adam Schiff said that his main residence was in Maryland to get a cheaper mortgage and ripped up America when he had to live in California because he was a member of the California congress,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social in July. “I always knew that Adam Schiff was a crook.”
Trump frequently criticized the role of Schiff in the Russiagate conspiracy and suggested that the California Democrat could face prosecution.
