Amazon works on software for humanoid robots which could one day provide packages at the doors of customers.
The idea is that humanoid robots roll in Rivian Electric Vans (Rivian is a company of electric vehicles partly held by Amazon) and deliver packages to customers.
It is according to a new information report, which claims that the project will soon start to test in Amazon’s facilities in San Francisco.

The project seems to be early, Amazon working on software and AI to fuel robots, as well as to test several different humanoid robots, including those of UNIREE Chinese society.
Amazon mainly uses robots specific to an objective in its installations, but it has tested a humanoid robot called Digit from Agility Robotics for Warehouse Work in 2023.

Earlier this week, the company announced the launch of a new agentic AI team, which builds software that feeds versatile robots. Amazon also said that this worked on other ways to accelerate deliveries, including optimization of delivery powered by AI.
