Alyssa Healed ruled out of AUS-W vs ENG-W with calf strain
Australia captain Alyssa Healy will atleast miss one game in the ongoing Women’s World Cup 2025. The 35-year-old is in rich vein of form with back to back centuries in wins over India and Bangladesh. Healy then suffered a minor calf strain during a training session held on Saturday.
Healy’s absence will be a huge blow to Australia. However, they have already reached the semi-finals staying unbeaten so far.
Australia have two games left in the league stage, with the England clash followed by a game against South Africa. Beth Mooney will take on keeping duties during Healy’s absence. Georgia Voll is expected to slot into the side for the England game.
Australia have the luxury of allowing Healy to recover given their qualification. The semi-finals of the Women’s World Cup 2025 are set for October 29 and 30. That gives the Aussie skipper a week to get back to full fitness from her injury.
