Allison Rawlings joins FX as head of publicity

Former NBCU communications executive Allison Rawlings is joining FX as its new head of advertising and communications in November. She will report to FX president John Landgraf, with a dotted line to Naomi Bulochnikov, executive vice president of Disney Entertainment TV.

Rawlings succeeds John Solberg, who revealed in June that he would leave his current role as executive vice president of advertising for FX Networks when his contract expires in January.

“FX’s communications strategy has always been grounded in passionate support for the artists who make our brand their home, as well as an unwavering commitment to respecting the journalists who cover our industry,” Landgraf said in a statement. “With Allison leading our advertising and communications team, we gain an admired leader whose experience, creativity and passion will continue and amplify the work of FX — and the integrity with which we pursue it.

“FX has long been synonymous with exceptional entertainment,” Rawlings added. “After years of admiring them from afar, it is a privilege and an emotion to join this incredible team.”

Rawlings joins FX after nearly a decade at NBCUniversal, where she most recently served as executive vice president of communications for the television and streaming division. His team played a central role in Peacock’s repositioning ahead of and during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Previously, Rawlings was a public relations executive at DreamWorks Animation, where she led publicity for Academy Award-nominated films as well as the launch of DreamWorks Animation Television in 2013. Her early career was in the nonprofit arts field.
