House Energy and Commerce Committee completed its budgetary marking audience on Wednesday afternoon, progressing the part of the health care of the legislation – which includes massive cups in Medicaid – in a party line 30-24 vote after more than a day of debate.

“President Trump has repeatedly promised that the Republicans were not going to cut Medicaid, but it was a lie since the Republicans had just voted for the biggest MEDICAIDI Cup in history,” said Pallone about the Committee Republicans.
The legislation that has managed to get out of the E&C committee will now go to the Chamber’s Budget Committee, which should meet at 9 a.m. on Friday, for their reconciliation marking. The panel will bring together all the approved texts of the committees concerned to prepare the complete reconciliation package, which will then make its way for a floor vote. This ground vote is expected to be next week on the basis of the president of the self-imposed deadline, Mike Johnson (R-La) and the management of the GOP at home is trying to meet.
