Chelsea took place to open talks to sign “huge” £ 42 m
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca seems ready for a busy summer. It may be about to lead the blues to their first trophy since 2021, but the Italian is already thinking in advance next season.
There has not been a shortage of great players linked to a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.
The Real Madrid Roddrygo superstar is a trendy target, with information from Spain that the club would like to sign the Brazilian.
Hugo Ekitike has become another potential option to strengthen Maresca’s front line this summer. Journalist Simon Phillips said that Chelsea had spotted the Frenchman before the summer transfer window after his excellent campaign for Eintracht Francfurt.
Although the need to attack players is obviously the key for Maresca, especially if the club qualification in the Champions League for 2025/26, the introduction of another or two centers is also important.
In all competitions this season, the club has conceded 57 goals, including 43 in the Premier League.

They will face more difficult competition in Europe, certainly increasing the need for a defender capable of going to the plate.
It seemed that they were precursors to sign the defender of Bournemouth Dean Huijsen, but this plan was recently educated …
Chelsea missed Dean Huijsen
After an excellent season for cherries, Huijsen certainly attracted attention, and it seemed that he would leave the southern coast as soon as possible.
According to the email, Chelsea was targeting a swoop for the Spanish defender, the report saying that colleagues admirers Liverpool thought that the Blues were led the pursuit.
Recent developments, however, now mean that the young person will not move to London this summer.
Real Madrid has activated the Liberation clause of 50 million pounds sterling in its contract in order to guarantee its services at the end of the season.
It is a blow for Maresca, because the capture of Huijsen, in particular with clubs such as Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Liverpool showing an interest, would have reported a declaration of intention.
Now the Italian will have to turn to other defensive targets before opening the transfer window on June 1. At that time, the blues will know what European competition they will play next season.
Could this allow the club to sign more high-level players?
Chelsea wishing to open conferences with a teenager defender
Maresa could turn to the defenders of the Premier League Marc Guehi and Jarrad Branthwaite as potential alternatives this summer, according to Sky Sports.
It is probably both Crystal Palace and Everton will try to repel Chelsea by placing huge price labels on their prized assets. If this is the case, the blues could turn to the continent for another central defender.
According to TeamTalk, with Huijsen now unavailable, Chelsea would like to open talks with the defender of Ajax Jorrel Hato.
The 19-year-old is a desired player, with AC Milan, Liverpool and Arsenal who have all shown interest in keeping him from the Netherlands.
Ajax set a price requested in the region of 45 million euros to 50 million euros (38 million pounds sterling at 42 million pounds sterling), which means that if the Blues would sign it, it would be cheaper than Huijsen.
The report says that talks should start soon between the Premier League and Hato team. If this is the case, Maresca will seek to obtain this agreement on the line as quickly as possible.
Why Chelsea must sign Jorrel Hato
The scout of Jacek Kulig football talents is used to breathtaking lyrical on young talents, but his praise for Hato in 2023 proves how well it was noted.
“17 years old. Of Toekomst Toekomst. One of the most talented CBs of its generation in Europe. ” Said Kulig and the young person has gone more and more forced since.

Although he was only 19 years old in March, the feeling of Ajax has already accumulated 111 competitive appearances for the club, recording 13 goal contributions at that time.
Although the club collapsed during the last games, allowing PSV Eindhoven to steal the title of Eredivisie away from them, Hato has experienced a wonderful campaign.
His 90% past precision in the first flight was the third best of the team, behind only Youri Baas and Josip Sutalo, while he ranked first for the plated (1.9), fifth for interceptions (0.7) and the third for authorizations (2) per game for Ajax.
He also won 4.1 duels in total per game – a success rate of 52% – while recovering 4.2 balls per game in Eredivisie this quarter.
These performances led Kulig to greet him for his “immense quality” and to have an “excellent season” for the Dutch club.
Huijsen is perhaps on the way to Madrid, but is there a case for Hato to be the best long-term perspective for Chelsea?
Why Jorrel Hato can be a better signature than Dean Huijsen
While Huijsen is a superb central defender, Hato offers a flexibility of position that could see him prosper under Maresca.
Not only is he an excellent defender of the center of the ball, but Hato is also just as comfortable behind, especially on the left side of the defense.
At the national level this season, the young Dutchman recorded eight goal contributions for Ajax, as well as the recording of 0.45 goals creation actions, winning 36 plated, doing 33 races in the last third and taking 413 keys in the last third.
Compare these statistics to Huijsen, however, and it is clear that could better integrate into the style of Maresca.
The Spaniard recorded four goal contributions for the Cherries this quarter, while it also recorded 0.12 actions for creating goals, won 26 plated, did 29 races in the last third and only took 137 keys in the last third of the opposition in the first flight.
Hato’s ball capacity to get out of his own half could give Chelsea a new dimension next season.
Huijsen may have been the flavor of the month for some time, but for cheaper transfer fees, Maresca could sign a defender who has the potential to be even better.
