Mohammed Siraj achieves career-high ICC Test rankings after Ahmedabad Test

Several cricketers from the Indian team dominated the latest update of the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings after the Shubman Gill-led side’s thumping victory over the West Indies in the series opener. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and pacer Mohammed Siraj have secured career-best positions in the Test rankings.
Team India registered a resounding victory over West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in the first Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 4, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. The second and final Test is scheduled to begin on October 10 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Mohammed Siraj scores career-best bowling ranking in ICC Tests
Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowlers for India in the first Test against the West Indies. The right-arm pacer took seven wickets (4-40 and 3-31) in the two innings. Mohammed Siraj has climbed three places in the ICC Test bowler rankings, reaching a career-high 12th position with 718 runs.

His fast bowling partner Jasprit Bumrah retained his place as the best Test bowler. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav also moved up seven places to 21st after his four-wicket haul in Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, West Indies struggled throughout the match, with no batter scoring a half-century and no bowler taking more than two wickets.
Ravindra Jadeja scores career-high batting ranking in ICC Tests
Ravindra Jadeja has won in the ICC Test rankings after a remarkable performance in the first match. His unbeaten 104 elevated him to 25th in the batting rankings. He took all four of his wickets in the second innings, which further cemented his position as the highest-ranked all-rounder in the Test.
KL Rahul moved up four places to 35th after his century. Young wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel jumped 20 places to 65th after scoring his maiden Test hundred, and Jadeja’s spin-bowling partner Washington Sundar moved up four positions to 11th place among all-rounders.
However, not all Indian players won. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal slipped two places to seventh in the batting rankings despite the team’s strong overall performance.

Shubman Gill had a dream start in his first home Test as captain as India crushed the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in Ahmedabad. Indian bowlers bowled out the visitors for 162 runs in their first innings.
The hosts then declared their innings at a total of 448/5, following centuries from Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel. West Indies offered little resistance in their second innings, being bowled out for 146 in just 45.1 overs.
India registered victory in three days and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Only Alick Athanaze (38), Justin Greaves (25) and Jayden Seales (22) put up any notable resistance.
Ravindra Jadeja was named player of the match for his first innings century and four wickets in the second innings, while Mohammed Siraj (3/31) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/23) also starred with the ball.
