Akie Iwai from Japan is halfway through her second victory in as many weeks as she built a three-stroke advance at the CPKC Women’s Open Friday in Mississauga, Ontario, in Canada.

Iwai followed his Bogey-free 64 in the first round with a 69 under 2 sub-paragraph on Friday to climb 9 under 133 at the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club.

The 23 -year -old won the Portland Classic Standard last week at a huge 24 under the peer. Being in front of the peloton has not changed anything in Iwai’s mental approach.

“No spirit of change. No change,” said Iwai. “Yeah, just focus my golf course.”

The biggest difference for Iwai has been on the Greens. She made four birdies compared to seven Thursday and estimated that she had left opportunities there.

“Today too, I have given many chances of Birdie, but I haven’t done it (doing the same),” said Iwai. “… I would say that I left a lot of short putts, no distance, short. Yeah, that’s why tomorrow I need more.”

Iwai has an experienced group of Pros LPGA trying to hunt it. A par second row at 6 sous, the world number 1 Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, the triple major champion Minjee Lee of Australia and Leona Maguire in Ireland.

Lee posted a 67 on Friday and would have been alone in second place without his only Bogey of the day to come to the 18th hole. She won the PGA female KPMG championship in June and is looking for her second title of the season.

“I think you have the impression that you need to keep your head more than when you continue. You can be a little more aggressive and you try to continue obviously and do as much birdies as possible,” said Lee. “So I think there is a different little mindset there.”

Thitikul pulled a 70, just like Maguire, who had a busy day with five birdies and five bogeys dispersed on his map.

Brooke M. Henderson is the Canadian Bas of his National Open after having displayed the scoring of the day, a 5-mine of 66 years, to obtain it at 5 for the week. She went Birdie-Birdie to finish her turn.

“I am really satisfied with the way it happened, especially to close with four birdies in my last nine holes,” said Henderson, who won this tournament in 2018. “Really exciting to finish 17 and 18 years old and give the crowd something to delight. It was really fun with two stews there.

“Feel like a lot of good impetus, a lot of confidence after today’s round. I hope you go out tomorrow and put a good number.”

She is tied in fifth row with Linnea Strom from Sweden (67), Jenny Bae (69) and Megan Khang (71). Nelly Korda (69) is part of a group at 4 sous.

Aphrodite Deng, a 15 -year -old lover from Canada, easily cut 3 under the peer. She quickly opened the door with a 66 before shooting a 73 on Friday.

Those who fell below the cup line of 1 on by including the champion in title Lauren Coughlin (2 over), the English prodigy Lottie Woad (2 over), Rose Zhang (3 over), Australia Hannah Green (5 over) and Lexi Thompson (8 over).
