AICPA urges the IRS to modernize tax forms on succession and confidence

AICPA has recommended in a letter that the IRS improves several tax forms used by areas and trustees, in accordance with an executive decree requiring that federal tax payments and reimbursements be treated electronically.
The forms that require an improvement, said AICPA in the letter of September 12, are:
“These obsolete forms and the deposit of documents should be revised as we have suggested, in particular with regard to the deposit of complex tax questions such as foreign investments and charity deductions,” said Eileen Sherr, CPA, CGMA, Political Director and Advoyant for AICPA, in a press release. “These recommendations will simplify the deposit for taxpayers and practitioners and will help reduce the administrative burden of the IRS while improving the effectiveness of treatment.”
The recommendations align with the executive decree 14247, Modernize payments to and from the American bank account, And the guiding principles of AICPA of a good tax policy, said AICPA.
AICPA said the recommendations are aimed at:
- Facilitate the deposit for taxpayers and tax professionals;
- Reduce errors and delays caused by unclear instructions or manual bypass solutions;
- Support electronic payments and deposits, which are part of a wider government thrust to modernize how taxes are managed; And
- Protect sensitive information by allowing the electronic delivery of tax forms instead of counting on physical mail, which can be lost or stolen.
The deadline for conformity with decree 14247 is September 30, 2025.
The recommendations are added to the comments previously subject to form 1041 and form 1041-A as well as a 1041-NR form proposed by AICPA, Reduction of American income tax for foreign and trusteeAnd the related schedules that are always relevant.
