After the release of Rahul Dravid, Kumar Sangakkara to take over as a coach?

IPL: It seems that Manoj Badale, the owner of the RR team, can make some important decisions at a meeting in London.

Each day brings a new piece of news from the Rajasthan Royals camp. And truth be told, it looks like a side, that is quite unsure, as to which way it’s headed. Head Coach Rahul Dravid is out, and there is uncertainty over Sanju Samson’s future still. Leave that alone, a report in Cricbuzz suggests, that the future of director Kumar Sangakkara is not certain too.

After Dravid, Sangakkara in or out?

The same report speaks about team owner Manoj Badale calling for a meeting in London, and a decision will be taken there only. The entire support staff has been called, but it’s unclear, if Sangakkara has been extended the invitation. It seems, that the Sri Lankan legend is in talks with a few other franchises, but that too isn’t a surety.

London Meeting for RR Crucial

Having said that, the batting coach Vikram Rathour might just be retained by the team, since he has been invited. But in case Sangakkara does continue with the RR, his assistant Trevor Penny is likely to play a bigger role this time around. All in all, it seems like a Royal mess for the Rajasthan Royals, especially after the way the team performed this time around.

In IPL 2025, the team only won four matches out of 14, and finished in the 9th position. Sanju Samson was injured for sometime, and Riyan Parag took over the reigns of the team. But something didn’t quite look well in the side. Perhaps the only saving grace for the team was, the introduction of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who took the world by a storm, and smashed a ton in just 35 deliveries against GT.
