Adolescents drowned in Coney Island, Brooklyn, just nearby

A teenager drowned in the waters off CONEY ISLAND, by a popular beach section through the emblematic roller coaster walk, the police announced on Friday.

A rescuer spotted the 19 -year -old victim floating in the ocean near W. 10th St. and Surf Ave. Around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday and dived to try to save him, police said. But when the lifeguard took out the young man from the water, he did not answer.

Doctors precipitated the victim at South Brooklyn Health, where the doctors said him dead 20 minutes later, said cops.

The Daily News does not publish the name of the young man as long as he cannot first confirm that his family has been informed.

The drowning comes only a week after the body of a 23 -year -old man was washed on the ground on the Rockaway beach near the beach 25th St. The swimmer, a recent immigrant from Africa, disappeared on July 25 near the beach of the 20th row around 6 p.m. while the storm clouds gathered.

Swimming is prohibited on New York beaches during thunderstorms and every day after the rescuers are unleashed at 6 p.m.

A week and a half before the retreat of the 23-year-old swimmer’s body, on July 20, another body of a man was discovered floating in the water about 4 miles west there, in Rockaway Beach near Beach 97th St.

Although his face was seriously broken down, he was finally identified by the medical examiner as being Jimmy Rambally, 37, a former lifeguard who, although he was a strong swimmer, disappeared while taking a bathing prohibited at the end of the evening around 11:20 p.m. on July 12.

Rambally had told his mother that he wanted to go to bed on the beach and watch the stars. His brother told the news that, according to a friend who accompanied him to the beach, once he got there, he could not resist entering the night waters.
