The host of Fox Rachel Campos-Duffy: “Are we a nation of immigrants? Or are we a nation of settlers? … We are the latter.”

Rachel Campos-Duffy (host of Fox Noticias): you see what the left tries to do is put Donald Trump against these empathetic families who are deported or that family members have expelled. But the reality is the vast and vast majority, I mean that we are talking much more than 90%, children who are sexually treated or for children’s work are Hispanics. Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, our ice officers and our border patrol are the greatest defenders of Hispanic children who are exploited. And they don’t get the credit they deserve. I believe that the Hispanics – the good normal Hispanic Americans obtain it. And really Claudia Sheinbaum, the president of Mexico and many of these Latin American countries, they should thank Donald Trump.

Campos -Duffy: The real question concerns – and the obsession they have with whom is really to know who we are as Americans. And you often hear, we are a nation of immigrants.

I think the question is: are we a nation of immigrants? Or are we a nation of settlers? And I would say with you, Will, that we are these. We are a country that has been forged and created by settlers. The settlers who came and formed a new identity. They created a new culture. They had customs that were very unique to whom we are.

And then we allowed immigrants to come and assimilate, and that did not happen. For what? Why didn’t it happen? Why all this process, of which my mother was part and was a beautiful process to become a citizen of the United States, why did it collapse?

The reason is that, fundamentally, the left hates America. They hate our founding history, they hate our founding fathers, they hate our founding documents. They hate that. And what the illegal immigrant represents for them is a chance for them to redo America in a different image. A kind of perfect Marxist and dystopian utopia they want. And the illegal immigrant is then armed for this purpose. For them, America does not concern who we are and the way you and I – I am Hispanic American, you are white in Texas – I think you and I have a lot in common. For the left – and it is because we are Americans, we consider ourselves to Americans. But for the left, it is only a paperwork problem. Repair the documents, legalize them, give them free stuff. They have no interest in assimilating them, and they have more disdain for Americans who want to keep our culture and keep our identity and secure our borders than for those who have no loyalty to our country, because they simply broke the law, came here, and they are there for economic reasons.
