CBS said the issue was canceled for financial reasons. But very shortly after the announcement, it is quickly suspected that it could have been connected to the merger waiting for a global paramount parent with Skydance. The transaction needs regulatory approval from the Trump administration, and Colbert’s humor is often addressed to the president.
Already, a certain number of Democrats in Capitol Hill have criticized Paramount Global for having reached a colony with Trump on his 60 minutes trials against CBS for $ 16 million.
