Seattle – Yankees’ third goal player Oswaldo Cabrera was withdrawn from the field in an ambulance after injuring the left ankle during the ninth round of New York’s 11-5 victory against the navy on Monday evening.
Cabrera was injured on a clumsy slide when he contacted the plate and marked the last Yankees race on the fly of the sacrifice of Aaron judge.
Manager Aaron Boone said Cabrera had put a splint on his left ankle before entering the ambulance on a stretcher. Cabrera was taken to the hospital with the team sports coach Tim Lentych.
“I think everyone understands that it was a fairly serious situation,” said Boone. “So, praying just for our guy tonight and hoping for the best. Be confident that he is in good hands when he spends the night here.”
Cabrera, from 26 years old from Venezuela, twisted on the ground and remained on the ground for several minutes while being assisted by various members of medical staff.
“Just before he breaks, he just called me and said to me,” Hey, did I score? “” Said the judge. “So, just a little a little shows you what type of guys it is. Something like it happens, and the only thing in his mind for all the pain and everything is:” Did I score? “”
Cabrera is in its fourth MLB season and has become a regular on the Yankees programming. He strikes .243 this season with a home run and 12 products produced.
“He takes care of everyone in this room. He likes to be a Yankee,” said the judge. “He wears his jersey with pride. It is difficult, especially a guy who scraped his whole life and finally had the opportunity to be our everyday guy and excel him.”
