Accident closes part of US Highway 61

DAKOTA, Minn. (KTTC) – The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash involved a utility vehicle and a pickup truck.
It happened at 8:20 a.m.
Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The State Patrol expects northbound Highway 61 to reopen by noon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash hit the northbound lanes 1 mile north of Dakota. The closure is between I-90 and Falcon Road.
A detour is in place for motorists who must bypass the closure.
The State Patrol says the closure is expected to remain in place through the morning.
It is not yet known what caused the accident or if anyone was injured.
