AC joint injuries: weightlifting exercises to avoid

Often called separate shoulder, this injury does not really affect the shoulder joint. This is the acromioclavicular (AC) joint between your collarbone and your shoulder blade.

The AC joint is maintained by strong ligaments and is important for a stable shoulder. If these ligaments become damaged, the movement of your shoulder will be limited when you heal.

Being aware of the exercises to be avoided can help prevent your worsening from your joint.

Recognize an AC joint injury

AC joint injuries are caused by trauma outside your shoulder, according to the Cleveland Clinic. This can happen due to car accidents, falls and sports injuries that involve landing on your shoulder.
