A repression of dissent – the Atlantic

This week, ABC withdrawn the actor’s talk show Jimmy Kimmel on the remarks he made linked to the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The suspension followed the comments of Brendan Carr, president of the Federal Communications Commission, about Kimmel. “The message of the FCC is clear”, Vivian Salama, the guest moderator for Washington week with the Atlanticsaid last night: “The rules of engagement change.” The panelists joined to discuss it, and even more.

“You cannot see this in isolation,” said Zolan Kanno-Youngs, a White House correspondent to The New York Timesnote. “Really, since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, what we have seen is a much broader repression of this administration.”

Joining Salama, the guest moderator and a Atlantic Staff editor, to discuss it and more: Kanno-Youngs; Leigh Ann Caldwell, Washington chief correspondent at Puck; and Asma Khalid, co-host World history Podcast at BBC News.
