Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed coach Todd Bowles and managing director Jason Licht for multi-year contract extensions, he was announced on Thursday.
“The leadership of Jason and Todd was essential to the success of our organization. The winning culture they established has positioned us well for the future,” said the owner / co -chair of the Buccaneers, Joel Glazer, in a statement. “The continuity and stability they offer will play an important role in our ability to compete for additional championships.”
The extension of Bowles is for three seasons, said sources to Jeremy Fowler in ESPN, pushing his agreement throughout the 2028 season. He entered his fourth season as a team trainer with a file of 27-24 while winning three consecutive titles from NFC South from 2022 to 20024.
“I am delighted to continue working with Jason for years to come when we rely on the success we have appreciated and continue to achieve even more important and better goals,” Bowles said in a statement. “My family loves Tampa and we can’t wait to provide more great moments for our fans in the coming seasons.”
Licht is currently the fifth longer traditional NFL director general, entering its 12th season with the BUCs.
The BUCS finished 10-7 last season, losing against Washington commanders in the NAFROIS NFC match.
Under Licht, the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl LV and drafted key players like Mike Evans, Tristan Wirfs, Vita Vea, Antoine Winfield Jr., Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving, Calijah Kancey, Cade Otton, Graham Barton, Luke Gedeke, Cody Mauch and more.
Tampa Bay leads the NFL in total shots and begins with the local players written in rounds 1-5 since 2014.
“I am very grateful to the Glazer family for the confidence and the belief they have shown in what we do here,” Licht said in a statement. “I am also very happy to continue working alongside Todd well in the future when we continue our mission to find and develop talented players and to chase additional championships for our fans.”
Under Bowles, who was the defensive coordinator of the BUCs before being promoted to head coach, the team’s defense has placed among the best in the NFL since 2019, leading the NFL in the precipitated defense (93.8 yards per match), the opposing sites by portage (4.0) and the recovery samples (68), while placing the second in the bags (281.0) and fifth in the effectiveness of the red zone (53.8%).
Overall, Bowles has a file of 53-65 as a chief coach. In addition to three games as an acting coach of the Miami Dolphins in 2011, Bowles spent four seasons on the sidelines with the New York Jets from 2015 to 18, 24-40.
