A member of the BRAND NEW DAY team confirms that production is now complete

Earlier this week, a few reliable scoopers claimed that Spider-Man: A Whole New Day had completed production, and now we have confirmation via a since-deleted Instagram post.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton’s assistant, Ziyi Cao, shared an image (nothing revealing) with the caption: “The packaging is as moving as ever.” She went on to say that she made sure to “give everyone a hug” before going their separate ways.
It’s unclear why Cao deleted the post (it’s not exactly a major bombshell to confirm that a movie is finished), but we’re guessing he was asked to do so, perhaps because Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios are planning to make the news official by announcing something on social media themselves.
While principal photography has wrapped, we know that Brand new day has planned repeats for early next year.
We saw some exciting and revealing set photos/videos during the making of this movie, but the crew managed to keep some things under wraps, including the much-discussed identity of Sadie Sink’s character.
Possible spoilers follow.
We recently shared video from the London shooting which showed armed police rushing towards a woman and knocking her to the ground. Although the arrested person was not visible until the end of the video, they appeared to be wearing the same green and yellow coat that Sink was spotted in last month.
It certainly looks like Stranger Things The star plays a villain, but we’ve also heard that she’ll be “an ally of Peter Parker” (but not necessarily Spider-Man), and that she’ll be involved in some sort of twist, so there’s a chance she’ll be introduced as one character before being revealed as someone else later in the film.
As far-fetched as this notion may seem, many online scoopers (some more reputable than others) believe that Sink is indeed playing Shathra.

In addition to Tom Holland as Spidey, Brand new dayThe cast includes Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Michael Mando as Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III as Tombstone. Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova is also expected to appear for a cameo appearance.
“I spend my time exploring the next stage of this incredible character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” said Destin Daniel Cretton at CinemaCon. “We’re all interested on a daily basis in the costume, how to swing, how to create an event, a moving story and a ride that we’ve never really seen before.”
“It’s day one – my fourth day on Spider-Man.” Holland said in the recently released BTS video. “You know, it’s funny. Putting on the costume, it’s different this time, somehow. It’s also the first time we’ve had fans on set on the first day, so it’s really exciting to share that with them. We have some familiar faces on set. You know, I’m just going to do my best, hope it goes well. No pressure.”
Spider-Man 4 was pushed back one week from July 24, 2026 to July 31, 2026.
