Kamryn Shannon de Ferris State wins the honors of female golfer of the week GLIAC




Big Rapids, Michigan –

Kamryn Shannon, senior of the Ferris State University, was chosen as a female golfer of the week of the intercollegial sports conference of the week of the week.

Shannon, from Jackson, specializing in sports communications, led the Bulldogs to a third place team at the Warrior Invitational held from September 22 to 23, in Washington, Michigan.

The Ferris State star was first in the field of the field with a figure of 219 for the 54 holes of action while Bulldogs ranked third in the team race.

Shannon carded scores of 72 in the first round, 73 in the second round and 74 in the final round while finishing equally at the top of the classification. He marked the second top five of Shannon in two fall competitions to date this year.

Shannon was a leader on the course and in class. In June, she won Commissioner Gliac’s prize for her leadership and academic success.

Last year, she was appointed team from the region of the Women’s Golf Coaches, the first All-Gliac team and appointed an Academic All-American of WGCA.

She was appointed First Team All-Gliac and an Academic WGCA Academic in the second year and second All-Gliac team in the first year.

The Bulldogs will organize their own Bulldog Fall Classic on Saturday and Sunday September 27 to 28, at the Katke Golf Race of the University.
