A high -rise building in the Bronx is partially collapsed in the Mott Haven district, known as FDNY
A high -rise building in the Bronx has partially collapsed, the New York fire service published on X.
It was not immediately clear which caused the partial collapse of the building at 207 Alexander Avenue.
There was no immediate report of injuries, the authorities said. But a research and rescue mission is underway.
A witness said she called 911 after seeing the smoke near the building this morning.
“I explained to the lady what I saw, and she said to me:” Wait, allow me to transfer you to the fire service, “the witness to CNN Affiliated WCBS said.
“Before it is about to make the transfer, the whole building – you heard a strong boom, and the thing has just exploded. And it falls like that.”
A corner of the public housing building is damaged, the wall partially taken off, the video of the CNN Affilié Wabc helicopter has shown.
The research and rescue teams are on the roof of the public housing building and climb on lots of bricks.
New York mayor Eric Adams said he was closely monitoring the situation.
“New Yorkers, I was informed of the emergency situation taking place in the Mott Haven region of the Bronx,” he posted on X.
“We obtain a complete assessment of the first stakeholders and will continue to provide updates. Please avoid the area for your safety. ”
This is a story in development and will be updated.
