A former dangerous misstep of an FBI – Redstate director

When you think of Taylor Swift, what do you think of her? For some people, she is a multiple award -winning singer. For some, she is “El Travador”, the girlfriend of Travis Kelce. But no one would have his support for a guy who apparently wanted President Trump dead.
And yet … In a nation still shaken by two assassination attempts on President Donald Trump in 2024, each word from a public character carries the weight of a hammer. Thus, when James Comey, the former FBI director, published a photo of shells organized to spell “86,47” on Instagram last May, subtitled as a “cool shell formation”, Trump supporters through America and the world felt cold.
For those who watched Trump fight the implacable verbal and physical attacks, the message was undoubtedly: “86”, the slang to “get rid of” or worse, paired with “47”, was clearly a nod to Trump as 47th president. Comey, a man once responsible for respecting the law and the order, affirms that it was an innocent error. But in a climate where the threats are greater than ever, can we afford such negligence on the part of someone in his stature?

His reckless position requires responsibility – not apologies – and reminds us why public security must pass first. Comey’s story as director of the FBI from 2013 to 2017, before Trump dismissed him in the middle of the Russian hoax survey, makes his actions all the more discordant. It is not just any citizen who takes false beach photos. He is a man who formerly directed the main agency for applying the law of the country, fully aware of the way words and symbols can ignite chaos. When he posted “86 47”, he not only shared an invite of the eccentric IAI; He threw a match in a Tinderbox. President Trump, speaking of Fox News, did not chop the words: “He knew exactly what it meant. A child knows what it meant.” And Trump is not alone in his outrage.
I still cannot believe that James Comey did not immediately go to prison for it. pic.twitter.com/yk5eqz6hrc

From Donald Trump Jr. to internal security secretary Kristi Noem to anyone with half a question – all have seen the post for what it looked like: a coded threat. Noem went to X, declaring: “Former FBI director in disgrace, James Comey, just called to the assassination of @potus Trump.” The secret services, rightly, launched an investigation on May 16, 2025 to investigate. Comey’s defense?
James Comey talks about what an inspiring figure is Taylor Swift East.
The most vicious sociopaths in our society are now all beta men, inflicting their revenge on the world because they were chosen last for kickball.

Now, a crazy and crazy person who is James Comey, in a video during a Manhattan book event for his criminal novel “FDR Drive”, arose, where he bizarrely pivoted to be called “Swiftie”. “I am a swiftie, I should say. I do not know if I am allowed to say that without being in trouble,” he joked, as if a nod to Taylor Swift could defuse the gravity of a survey on the secret services.

Minute minute: I don’t know if Jim Comey is lost in an “Arctic Mist”, but he became weird
He said he had not realized that “86” could be linked to violence, despite the Dictionary of the Argot de Cassell, noting his violent connotations since the 1970s. For a man of Comey’s experience, this supports credulity. His novel, ironically, deals with the themes of misinterpreted discourse and incitement – but it seems blind to the real parallels of its own actions.
It was painful – literally painful to watch. I had to stop. Do not give continental shit about Comey to be a swiftie. The question is why make this humiliating video? What could he hope to win? https://t.co/hl1cyd7ccu

It’s not just deaf; It is a subject of dangerous discussion on the part of someone who should know better. The leading voices were rapid and united in their response. FBI director Kash Patel, the choice of Trump to clean the Comey agency led once, joined Noem and others to condemn the position. Tulsi Gabbard even called for Comey’s imprisonment, reflecting the depth of concern among those who consider Trump as a target of incessant political attacks.
And they are not mistaken at all worried. Trump survival of two assassination attempts, one in July 2024, another in September, increased the issues. Each public character, in particular that with the Comey platform, has the duty to carefully walk.
His statement on Instagram that “I did not know that some people associate these figures with violence” resembles a fragile excuse, especially when his own comments as a book tour show that the message could be considered political. In a nation where confidence in institutions is suspended by a thread, public figures must model the restraint, not carelessness.
Comey’s past comes up against Trump, from his dismissal to his role in the hoax probe of Russia, does not justify flirting with symbols that cry out. Social media is not a playground; It’s a microphone, and Comey’s position amplified the bad message to the worst time.
However, the secret services do its job on this FBI chief in disgrace, investigating the potential threats with the seriousness they deserve. But this moment requires more than probes; It requires a broader commitment to public security in relation to insane and harmful rhetoric. The strength of America lies in its people, and not in reckless messages that flirt with danger. James Comey’s “86 47” waterfall, but he turns it, reminds us that the words count, or, like El Rushbo himself, Rush Limbaugh, would always say: words have a meaning – especially those who have been entrusted to our security.
Any sensible person should know to defend the law and the order, and it starts with the holding of responsible public figures. President Trump, our 47th president, deserves protection, not veiled threats from a former FBI chief in disgrace. More apologies, more deviations and double conversation. The secret services are doing its part; Make sure to keep our diligence reasonable and call enemies and losers. In addition, Mr. Comey, stop trying to act as the adult of a PI in a film by John Hughes.
