A flashing and you will miss the moment in the new trailer for Superman, DC fans wondered if the film James Gunn is linked to the Batman after all

Almost a week after hitting the internet, DC fans always find details hidden in the new superman trailer, and we even spotted a potential link with The Batman by Matt Reeves.
On Twitter, the fan has published a screenshot of a moment of flashing and yourself in the new trailer of Superman where Superman by David Corenswet flies around the bad Kaiju. But in the background, on a huge screen, there is a news program that takes place with the title: “Major floods cause suffering”. Consult the post below.

The fan seems to think that the “floods” are the same in the film of 2021 The Batman, where half of Gotham was destroyed when the Riddler and his band of misdeeds have exploded the bridges leading to Gotham, causing water flow in the city, destroying the houses and taking lives. The floods take place towards the end of the film, and we see the city try to repair when the titles roll. Could this mean that Superman takes place at the same time as the Batman?
However, not everyone is convinced, like another Twitter user replied: “Major floods in the metropolis of the trailer, not Gotham”. Earlier in Superman’s trailer, we see what seems to be the engineer who pushes the hero in the water and in a building (although we cannot be certain). This could be the reason for floods.
But another fan joined them and stressed: “does not look like a flood”, and another added: “Gotham is opposite the Metropolis Bay. They are both [in] New York after all. In this spirit, it would not be too ordinary so that news diffusers of the city of Metropolis account for a major flood in Gotham, because the two districts are so close to each other.
We do not know if other trailers or teasers will confirm the link, but everything will be revealed when the first chapter of DCU: the film Gods and Monsters will release the screens this summer. With Corenswet as Clark Kent, the film follows the hero as he tries to juggle his double life as a journalist for Planet Quotidien and Superman, while a group of villains led by Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) tries to take control of the city. Directed by James Gunn, the film also features Rachel Brosnahan in the role of Lane laws.
Superman is released on July 11, 2025. While waiting for, see which other DC to come and the next superhero movies you should expect.
