Trump says Intel CEO is “very conflicting”, calls for his resignation

Chipmaker Intel is the last technological company faced with the political pressure of President Trump.
Trump on Thursday called for the immediate resignation of the Director General of Intel Lip-Bu Tan, who took the bar in March to postpone the besieged company.
“The CEO of Intel is very conflict and must resign, immediately. There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this problem! ” Trump wrote on his social media platform.
Trump did not say what the conflicts were in his post, but his remarks came after Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) Sent a letter to the Board of Directors of Intel, expressing national security problems concerning Tan’s reported with Chinese companies. Cotton cited a Reuters report which said that Tan has invested in more than 600 Chinese companies and that some of them have links with the country’s army.
Trump’s call to Tan’s resignation adds to a list of problems with which Intel must already face.
The 57 -year -old technological society, formerly the most precious American flea manufacturer, is trying to follow the race to dominate artificial intelligence degenerates. Santa Clara, California, has lost money and has seen its stock market plunging while it is behind competitors such as Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices.
Intel’s share price closed $ 19.77 on Thursday, down 3%.
The company said in a press release that its board of directors and its TAN are “deeply determined to advance American national and economic interests and make significant investments aligned on the president’s first program in America”.
Trump said on Wednesday at an event in which Apple announced an additional $ 100 billion in the United States that it plans to place a price on semiconductors, but that there will be no fees for companies that build in the United States
Although he congratulated societies such as Apple and Nvidia, he criticized Intel.
“Intel has just been taken over the coals. They were taken to the cleaners, frankly, and have moved to other places, especially Taiwan,” said Trump at the event.
Intel, known for making “brains” that fuel computers, has invested massively in its foundry activity, facing Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., which manufactures fleas for companies like Apple and Nvidia. During Biden administration, the Ministry of Commerce granted Intel about $ 8 billion to support advanced manufacturing and packaging projects in the United States
