The reign of Katie Ledecky at 800 meters continues in the worlds

Katie Ledecky has shown the arrivals who are still the boss.
Ledecky won the 800 meters on Saturday at the Aquatics World Championships in Singapore, pushing the challenges of the 18 -year -old rising star, McIntosh of Canada and Lani Pallister in Australia, to continue his 13 -year -old domination.
Ledecky, 28, posted his fourth time the fastest time at 8: 05.62, but found herself to hang McIntosh at 700 m before exceeding the Canadian and retaining a late Pallister, 23 year old.
Ledecky’s time was a world championship record. Pallister finished 8: 05.98 to become the only woman other than Ledecky or McIntosh with a time below 8:10 am at 800. McIntosh swam in 8: 07.29.
With the victory, Ledecky became the first swimmer to win seven world titles in the same race. She also has four Olympic gold medals remotely and should try to add to her transport to the Los Angeles Games in 2028.
“It was a very good season, and I think that this evening, whatever the result, I was going to be really happy with my season,” said Ledecky on Peacock after the race. “I think it simply removed the pressure and allowed me to take advantage of the race and somehow appreciate this moment.”
The victory represents his 23rd world championship and his 30th medal. She is second behind Michael Phelps in both, who has 26 and 33, respectively.
“These last 100 have been quite stressful,” said Ledecky. “You don’t want to push too early. … I would put everything I had in it.”
She will take a short break.
“I will try to take a break now and reset and go back to work,” she said. “Because I have a lot of work to do.”
LEDECKY also won the 1,500 meter freestyle earlier this week.
Also on Saturday, the American Gretchen Walsh won her second gold medal this week with her victory in the 50 meter butterfly in 24.83. Kaylee McKewn of Australia won the 200m back in 2: 03.33.
