Liverpool Shortlist 75 M £ Rodrygo Alternative

Liverpool does not want to sell Luis Diaz this summer, but they should do it. Keeping a player on the books whose heart is set elsewhere is an unhappy decision, and the Colombian wants to leave Anfield.
You can see his case. 28 years old, Diaz is one of the best wingers of the game, but he earns a relatively modest salary in Liverpool and entered the second year of his contract.
Diaz wants a salary increase, but Liverpool is not inclined to give him one, rather ready to see his contract.

It was a crucial part of last season’s success. Diaz scored 17 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for Liverpool, his best return for the club.
His electric rhythm, his tenacious fight and his versatility were perfect for Arne Slot while the Dutch coach led the Reds as the Premier League.
But Bayern Munich is persistent in their attempt to sign the Colombian winger, having already seen an offer of 58.5 million pounds sterling that was overthrown this summer.
However, the German sky confirms that the Champions of Bundesliga continue to push, and with Liverpool who was to sign a new attacker, perhaps his sale for gigantic costs would not be such a bad thing in the long term.
The last on Hugo Ekitike in Liverpool
Hugo Ekitike by Eintracht Frankfurt was one of the most coveted names on the market this summer. Manchester United and Newcastle United both of them expressed interest, but it was the Reds who will probably prevail, the Frenchman submitting a transfer request on Thursday to conclude an agreement with the side of Anfield.
Valued at 100 million euros (85 million pounds sterling), Ekitike will cost a nice penny, well, but it is worth it, already considered “one of the best attackers” of analyst Ben Mattinson.
While Alexander Isak of Newcastle United was the first choice of sports director Richard Hughes, the Magpies rejected the advances of Liverpool, so that the Reds rather stole their highest target.
It is not as good as Isak, but the 23 -year -old has a high potential, the real chance to make progress for several years in Liverpool and to reach this pedestal.
While Diaz spent a good part of time as a makeshift attacker in 2024/25, he is at the base of a front to the left. With Darwin Nunez also supposed, Liverpool may need to sign a winger to go next to Ekitike.
Liverpool Line Up Luis Diaz Heir
According to Alex Crook de Talksport, Liverpool has retained an interest in sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle, after being signed a year ago.
England international, 24, is estimated at 75 million pounds sterling and any concrete movement depends on the future of Diaz. However, the long -standing interest and the affiliation of Gordon’s Merseyside could see him pushed for a return to Anfield, after leaving the Liverpool Academy at 11 years old.
While Rodrygo du Real Madrid is also on the radar of Liverpool, with preliminary discussions having taken place, Gordon could be the man to follow.
Why Liverpool wants Anthony Gordon
In Cody Gakpo, Liverpool has a prolific and proven left winger. However, Diaz’s departure would require a direct replacement, and although Rodrygo is an astonishing signature, Arsenal also has an acquired interest and Real Madrid is looking for more than 87 million pounds sterling.
Gordon would be a more than acceptable help. Runner at high speed with an obstinate approach to her football, the Newcastle star has flowered in one of the best in the Premier League in the past two years, with his teammate Bruno Guimaraes describing him as “special”.
Technically clear and physically robust, it certainly corresponds to the mold that Diaz would leave behind, and this set of dynamic skills could be the perfect thing for a young attacker in Ekitike, who will need support when he enters the fire cauldron which is the English high flight.
Ekitike will of course have Mohamed Salah and Florian Wirtz direct the supply line, but in Gordon, Liverpool could keep the feeling of energy and exhaustiveness that Diaz brings to the table.
And anyway, Toon’s talent has already demonstrated in the Premier League that he is able to throw with Diaz, and in fact Roddrygo, whose skills have led Luka Modric to describe him as a “world class superstar” at La Liga.
Let’s be a little deeper. Now we are going to distort the data a little. Gordon’s campaign in 2024/25 left a lot to be desired, but it was a force to count with the previous season.
Looking at this 2023/24 quarter, comparing it to the efforts of Roddrygo and Diaz in the trimester league, we can see that he has the potential to make all the impression in Liverpool.

Quite the effort. Gordon’s performances, by scoring 21 contributions to goals through the year of Newcastle, struck by the injury, led to the honor of the club’s player of the year. It was his first full season on Tyneside and an illustration of his high -level performance capacity.
And while his high duel level, his creativity and his power in the last third increased Ekitike while he was making his girl in England, the central center could certainly make the favor, with a really superimposed and large style of play.
Indeed, according to FBREF, Ekitike ranked among the highest 10% of the attackers in the best European leagues last season for the assists, the most important 6% for shooting actions, and the 4% the most important for the two progressive races and the successful sockets by 90.
Whatever you look at it, it is difficult to imagine that the Liverpool transfer window is something other than success. Slot proved its value last season, and now it is rewarded with the pieces to create a sustainable champions team.
