8 states with the most tornadoes in the United States


A tornado is a violently rotating column of air which extends from thunderstorms to the ground. During an average year, hundreds of tornadoes occur in the United States, especially in a region nicknamed Tornado Alley.

THE States with the most tornadoes often experience bad weather at the end of spring and summer. Some of them are states of the Gulf coast which are also vulnerable to hurricanes.
