The fever could be without Caitlin Clark for the game in Liberty

Caitlin Clark’s health and shooting struggles continue to be a scenario in force while Indiana fever is preparing to finish a consecutive road against New York Liberty on Wednesday.
Clark scored nine consecutive points of the Indiana at the end of the fourth quarter on Tuesday, pushing fever in front of the Connecticut Sun 85-77 in front of a closed window in Boston. But after feeding Kelsey Mitchell for a lay-up with 39.3 seconds to play, Clark caught his area of the right groin.
Clark previously missed four regular season games and the commissioner’s cup final with a groin injury. Tuesday was his fourth return match.
“No update,” said fever coach Stephanie White after the match. “I just felt a little something in the groin, so we will have it assessed and see what is happening from there.”
The fever (12-10) can choose to rest your against New York (14-6) given the rapid turnout and the break from the stars of the WNBA approaching. Clark was also confirmed to participate in the 3 -point competition during the stars festivities in Indianapolis on Friday.
Clark’s 3 -point shooting is better in Indiana than abroad this year. She made 2 of the 35 long -term attempts on the road this season after a screening of 1 for 7 Tuesday.
Clark will be one of the captains and starters of the Saturday star match on Saturday. The reigning champion Liberty has several representatives who go to Indianapolis this weekend, but sometimes it is their depth scorers who save the day.
Leonie Fiebich scored a 21-point career summit in a return victory against Atlanta’s dream on Sunday, after the Liberty was late from 19 points to the second quarter and 11 at halftime.
Fiebich pulled 3 for 3 with two 3 points in the third period to help the Liberty turn the tables and withdraw for a 79-72 victory. It was the first time that the German striker has led the team by scoring this year.
“I love everything from Leo and what she brings to this team. She is the ultimate professional, how she is ready to play and disinterested,” said Liberty Sandy Brondello coach. “We encourage her to shoot, of course, and put it in actions there because she is the purest shooter that I have ever seen.”
Selection and finalist of all rookies for the sixth player of the year in 2024, Fiebich has an average of 8.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game and draws 50% deeply (21 out of 42).
“It helps when he enters and I have the confidence to get another one,” said Fiebich. “But I think what really did us good in this third trimester is that (Breanna Stewart) evokes the ball, being the leader and bring it to action and make really intelligent decisions.”
Stewart, of course, is normally a power attacker and heads for his seventh star game this weekend. The same goes for Sabrina Ionescu, who has an average of 18.8 points per game but pulled 3 for 20 in total and 0 for the arc against Atlanta.
