Big3’s Boston Ball Hogs Advertise the pre-Rôti list
Boston Ball porcs of the Big3 should make their TD Garden debut on Sunday evening.
Boston.com caught up the co-founder of the League and the Ice Cube entertainment magnate before the match.
Ice Cube approached a range of subjects, especially what to expect this weekend, an update on the series of “Friday” films and what fans of the Lakers think that the Celtics had to break their list.
The interview was slightly modified for length and clarity.
The Big3 is back in Boston this weekend. How do you feel?
“I feel good. I live the dream. Being in Boston is extremely intelligent for Big3 because Boston was great for us. We wanted to play here every year. Now have the Boston Ball pigs, which gives us an excuse to come back here every year. I hope that several times a year in the future when we play more games. ”
The star match and the championship round were here last year. It seemed to be a success,, RIGHT?
“Yes, and the previous year. Released a year, Jaylen Brown had the chance to consult us and ended up playing in the star game in London. It was a great moment for us. The Celtics were great for us, just. Just very accommodating. It was just a good fit.”
It will be the first time that we will see the pigs of Boston Ball (1-2) at home. What should people expect?
“I hope a victory. They will face Dwight (Howard) and the La Riot, so you could have songs” Beat la “appear here and there. But, at the end of the day, they are trained by Gary Payton. He is championship coach. He won the championship last year with another team. So, I hope they will put it all.”
We know “the glove” of his days of play, but what does Gary Payton look like as a coach?
“His coaching style is free of charge. He will not hit you in the back to do what you are supposed to do, but he will kick you in the [expletive] In order not to do what you are supposed to do. You have to intervene to play for Gary Payton.
Payton Pritchard said he would like to see half-cun limns that have 4 points in the NBA. Big3 already has 4 -point shots. What does this add to the game?
“It adds a wrinkle that you cannot see in professional basketball nowhere else. This adds excitement. You are never released from a game with these 4 -point circles. I think the half-terrain is too far. Our circles are 30 feet. It’s a nice long shot.
“We did not make an arc because we estimated that it could be too many attempts. You don’t want guys to take the ball and start lifting them everywhere. Circles have meaning because it maintains manageable attempts and you can sometimes defend a circle. You cannot defend the Arc at 4 points. ”
If you were to assemble a Big 3 from Dream of Celtics to retirement, who would be your three?
“Larry Bird, of course. Bill Russell. I would need a guard. Give me a tiny Archibald. (Paul) Pierce can ball, I think Larry and Larry take the same space in a way, but I will take Larry.”
How do Lakers fans think that Celtics had to break their team under the financial constraints of the new CBA?
“This is the problem in sport at the moment. Big3 has a rule that if you win the championship, you have to make it go back. No drafts, the same team, bring it back. The other teams can write, but you have to make it go back with the same team. I think fans want to see this. They don’t want to see the championship teams separate.
How do you balance this, wanting parity and knowing that you grew up on dynasties like Celtics and Lakers in the 80s? Are the dynasties not one of what makes the game great?
“You want a standard to be established that everyone is continuing. Too much parity is starting to be too much a draw. There should be a standard set and generally the championship team establishes this standard. Breaking them, for me, do not keep the norm. It’s really like throwing the baby with the bath.”
How cool it was to see Gerald Green win the Big3 title with Bivouac at TD Garden last year?
“It’s incredible. We gathered this league because we wanted more basketball. Summer is boring with regard to sport. If you like basketball and football, you are waiting.
“You don’t stop dreaming because you are out of the NBA. You dream as long as you are alive. These guys always have achievements they want to get on the basketball field and give them this scene to get a championship in the Big3, I know it was special for him.”
Could you explain some of the aspects of the Big3 which are unique / interesting?
“You are going to get four games for the price of one. This is one thing. We play the game in the right direction, and it’s appreciated. It’s fast and physical.
“You will recognize a lot of stars who play and train, and if you want to get an autograph on their part, no one will approach and prohibit you from the arena for life. It is a fun atmosphere, a lot of entertainment of the dancers at DJs in the DJs. It is like a mini-tut-star game.”
Updates on “Last Friday”, the last episode of your series of Friday films that would be in preparation?
“We are about to get into a room with superb intelligent and funny people and create a masterpiece.”
How will you get around the fact that some of the original actors (including Bernie Mac, John Witherspoon and Tiny Lister JR) are no longer with us?
“In the same way as you contact when the people you love are out of your life. You have to remedy it, accept it and move on. ”
Do you have a target date in mind?
“No target, there is no reason to put us pressure. When the food is ready, everyone is going to eat.”
You have a lot, including a new musical tour. Tell us about this.
“It is the truth for power. Four decades of attitude. I have been doing this for 40 years, I started to rap in ninth year, so I was 14 years old. So it was a minute. There has been a lot of music then enters and now and it’s time to celebrate it. It is time to think and conclude it in an arc and make a large production around. ”
