Netflix orders the live adaptation of the “solo levels” with byeon woo-seok

Netflix again increases its Korean content list, commissioning a live adaptation of SoloThe extremely popular web novel, webtoon and the anime franchise which has become one of the greatest successes in Korea in recent years. The Fantastic-Action series will feature the actor of the Byeon Woo-Seok (Beautiful runner, 20th century girl), with a production led by Kakao Entertainment and Sanai Pictures.
Byeon, who has become one of the youngest stars at Korea’s demand, has long been fans in the role of Sung Jin-Woo, Solo“Often anti-heroes. The actual visual presence of the actor – described by fans as “straight out of a manhwa” (the Korean word for comics) – makes him a natural adjustment to embody the transformation of Jin -Woo from the weakest hunter to the last hope of humanity against supernatural annihilation, says Netflix.
Based on the successful Smash web novel published on Kakaopage, Solo has accumulated cumulative views of 14.3 billion views through its different formats. Earlier this year, its animated adaptation marked the story as the first Korean series based on IP to sweep the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025, winning nine trophies, including the anime of the year and the best action.
Located in a world where portals called “doors” connect reality to deadly alternative dimensions, the story follows Sung Jin-Woo, a hunter of electronic rows barely strong to survive the low level missions. But after a brutal dungeon raid kills him almost, Jin-Woo wakes up with a new mysterious capacity: he can “go up to power by combat, gain force faster than anyone before him. As it grows, the same goes for the threat scale it faces – monstrous invaders pouring doors that threaten to erase humanity itself.
The series will be co-directed by Lee Hae-Jun and Kim Byung-Seo, the film team behind Ash,, Moon CARAGEAnd Virgin. Netflix claims that production features a global VFX world -class team to give life to fantasy and high stake actions in history.
