Some fans of Grand Theft Auto think they may have found evidence of children in GTA 6 in an official screenshot. The image in question was published in May 2025 with a bunch of others, and although the particular one does not generate much intrigue immediately, few fans in the Eagle eyes have spotted what they believe could be an NPC child. Rockstar Games has not confirmed or even denied as such, which maintains speculation alive.
That being said, the chances that it turns out to be the case seems quite weak. In this article, we will examine three reasons why there will probably be no children in GTA 6.

1) No concrete evidence so far
To date, Rockstar Games has presented Grand Theft Auto 6 with two trailers, 70 screenshots, a few wallpapers (location postcards) and some works of character art. The trailers have particularly given an overview of a variety of NPCs in different parts of Leonida.
The screenshots have done roughly the same thing, but none of the media offers children. As mentioned, one of the screenshots (from the group of the Grassrivers region) is suspected of presenting a child, but it is only speculation at the moment.

If there were children in GTA 6, which would be a new major addition in the franchise, then Rockstar would probably have revealed them properly in the trailers or screenshots. This could happen with the future promotional material, since the release date of the title is still almost a year old, but for the moment, there is no concrete evidence suggesting the inclusion of children.
2) They don’t add much to the gameplay
The inclusion of children among NPCs in GTA 6 does not serve a lot of goal. Of course, it would make the crowd more diverse and realistic, but that’s it, and not so serious overall.
Take the Cyberpunk 2077 for example, a similar game that really has NPC children, but does that have a notable impact? Not really. The absence of children was also not a problem in the previous Grand Theft car games, so it seems a little improbable that Rockstar makes this change now, in particular taking into account the previous entry of this list.
In fact, the presence of NPC children in GTA 6 could prove harmful instead, as we will discuss in the next entry.
3) could lead to a lot of controversy
Grand Theft’s auto franchise has often been at the center of controversies, from its creation in 1997, often because of its violent elements of play. The addition of children to GTA 6 could therefore lead to a lot of controversy because of this very factor.
The upcoming title is probably the biggest Rockstar Games project. His parent company, Take-Two Interactive, recently said that the ambition and complexity of this entry were superior to the developer.
“The ambition and complexity of Grand Theft Auto VI are more important than any previous title of Rockstar, and the team is ready to publish another amazing entertainment experience that will exceed the expectations of players.”

In that spirit, it seems unlikely that Rockstar wants to risk controversy with its greatest launch by adding children in GTA 6.
