The Valkyries visit a fever while Caitlin Clark returns

Caitlin Clark plans to play for Indiana fever for the first time in more than two weeks when the Golden State Valkyries visit Indianapolis on Wednesday afternoon in a battle of 9-9 teams.
Indiana was to be closer to the top of the ranking, while the expansion valyries are among the surprises at the start of the WNBA season.
Clark, who has been sidelined since June 24, missed time with separate leg injuries, but tried good to go after practicing on Tuesday.
“It’s going to be fun to come back there, let’s hope, and feel things again,” said Clark, whose goal for the minutes on Wednesday is in the “upper 20s”.
“I don’t know what the type of minute will look like, but when I am there, I play, play hard. It will be a team that will move constantly, so being aware and active, bringing energy. It is obviously difficult to sit down and look at a few weeks, so I’m certainly excited to come back there.”
Clark was largely inactive and has not played since June 24 due to a leg injury that occurred after an awkward fall. She also missed three weeks with a tense quad.
Clark raised six seasonal points in his last match over 31 minutes.
“I mean, I feel pretty good, but I will try not to do too much and put myself in a good position in the future,” she said.
A departure from .500 was a victory for Golden State. The first year franchise finished June on a 7-2 race before removing its last two games.
The Valkyries lost 90-81 on the road against Atlanta’s dream on Monday. Golden State managed 21 reversals and lost an advance of 68-64 before the fourth quarter.
“Atlanta did an excellent job by accelerating their physique and I think we have led our starters a little longer than I liked,” said coach Natalie Nakase.
Nakase also mentioned a disparity of 24 to 9 on the attempts to launch frankly, noting: “We simply did not have the whistle.”
Golden State was led by veteran Kayla Thornton. The pro 10 years has collected 15 points in defeat and has career summits these seasons of 14.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. She was chosen for her first WNBA stars match.
The departure of .500 of Indiana was somewhat surprising with the multiple absences of Clark.
Given the All -Stars trio on the list – Clark is joined by the high -level goalkeeper Kelsey Mitchell and the third year post Aliyah Boston – the fever was considered a candidate in the playoffs. Mitchell on average 19.3 points and won his third sign of a consecutive star head. Boston (16.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game) won his third consecutive selection and carried the offensive in Stretchs Without Clark, which also has four performances of more than 20 points.
Indiana comes out of a brutal defeat of 89-87 at home against the sparks of Los Angeles on Saturday, when the fever missed its last five shooting attempts, including the Boston sweater with the clock that holds the zeros.
“I thought that (Boston) had a very good overview of the end,” said coach Stephanie White. “Sometimes it doesn’t fall to you. So we look more at the execution.”
This is the second meeting of these teams this year. Golden State beat the Indiana 88-77 on June 19 in San Francisco.
