The judge blocks the financing of Planned Parenthood in the “beautiful” law

The federal judge appointed by Obama, Indira Talwani, published on Monday an injunction temporarily retaining the “great and beautiful bill” of President Donald Trump, from the reduction of funds to Planned Parenthood under Medicaid, according to legal documents.

Trump officially signed the tax and budgetary legislation of the GOP after months of negotiations in the House and Senate, which included a wording blocking the funding of Medicaid to the suppliers of abortion for a year. Talwani, however, approved a temporary prohibition order deposited by Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts and Planned Parenthood of Utah affirming that funding will continue to be “disbursed”. (Related: the media said that the big bill was dead. Trump proved them.

“The defendants, their agents, employees, people appointed, successors and anyone acts in concert or participation with the defendants will take all the measures necessary to ensure that the funding of Medicaid continues to be disbursed in a usual and period of Planned Parenthood Federation of Utah”, the order provides.

Before the approval of Judge Talwani, the PPFA filed a complaint on Monday against Trump administration officials, notably the Secretary of Health and Social Services (HHS), Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the centers for the director of Medicare and Medicaid Services, Mehmet Oz, due to the so -called “objectives” against the organization.

Since Trump took office for his second mandate, more than 20 Planned Parenthood clinics have closed, the organization warning that the bill could have a major national impact.

A day before the Senate approached the bill, Planned Parenthood published a declaration in June saying that if the legislation had adopted, “nearly 200 Planned Parenthood health centers in 24 states across the country are likely to close”, with around “1.1 million patients without access” to their health care.

“If this unconstitutional law is not arrested, the consequences will be nothing less than a public health crisis,” said the organization in its trial.

The White House, HHS and PPFA did not immediately respond to the request for comments from the Daily Call News Foundation.
