The studios are opposed to the risk with photos of action led by women

With the release of The old guard 2 On Netflix before the holiday weekend, Star Charlize Theron is thinking about the state of action films led by women in Hollywood and why she does not do as many waterfalls as before.
In a joint interview with the New York Times Faced with his co-star Uma Thurman, the Mad Max: Fury Road The actress said that the studios are less likely to give women who are heading for blockbusters, especially if the film does not kill in the box office.
“Yes, it is more difficult. It is known,” she replied when asked by the newspaper if there is still a disparity between the sexes in taking certain photos. “Action films with female tracks are not green on as much as those with male tracks. I think that the thing that always frustrates me, is the fact that guys will get free driving. When women do this and that the film may not fully strike, they will not necessarily get the opportunity. With that, we were very aware that the eyes were on us.
A veteran of cinema full of success in trade, including Italian work, atomic blonde and several Fast and Furious Entrances, Theron also opened to make fewer stunts in his career due to serious injuries that required surgery.
“I meet people and they are like:” Oh, what happened to your arm? ” And I say to myself: “Oh, I have just undergone surgery”. And they are like: “The last time I saw you, you were operated on!” I had an unhappy injury on the first attempted action I have ever made, for a bad film entitled Aeon flow. On the new day, I made a backrest and I did not have enough height, and I landed on my neck on a concrete bridge. I had the last surgical intervention on my neck 18 years ago. I underwent surgery on both elbows, my right shoulder, my thumb, the carpal tunnel, fractures. Lots of fractures, ”she recalls.
Consequently, Theron said that she had “no desire to learn to fall into a volley of stairs” or to play perfect underwater.
“It is time that we really recognize these artists,” she said, referring to the addition by the Oscars of an achievement in the category of cascades in 2027, “because they are really part of the construction of characters. Without them, there are many things that would never be in a film in which I am.
Thurman, for whom The old guard 2 Mark a return to action in more than two decades, agreed, saying that it is “really practical” when it comes to avoiding taking projects that require a lot of physics, such as underwater elements.
