47-Yo Matt Kuchar says that he “always feels like a child” in competition on the PGA Tour

Matt Kuchar is doing his 12th PGA Tour Beginning of the season at the classic John Deere 2025 in TPC Deere Run. After his third round, he spoke to the press, saying that despite his age, he always feels like a child on the course.
Kuchar, who was 47 years old last month, pulled 4-mine of 67 in his third round at TPC Deere Run. During his post-round interview, he was invited to share what it is to be still so competitive at his age, and he replied (via Asap Sports):
“Listen, I always feel like a child. I am always excited to come to these tournaments. One of the unique things about the golf game is every week that we all start peer, we all have a chance to do something great.”
Matt Kuchar used baseball as an example, saying that if the baseball teams started at 10-40 for each match, it would be “difficult to continue”. However, with the golf course, each player has a chance to do something incredible every week as long as he presents himself. Therefore, he strives to arise with excitation.
On the day of moving, the golfer born in Florida became without Bogey on the first nine at TPC Deere Run. He pulled five birdies and a Bogey on 18 holes, bringing his total score at 11 under 202. He is currently on an equal place for 10th place with Kevin Roy, Cameron Champ and two other golfers in the provisional classification.

Matt Kuchar’s performance this year was a step compared to that of last year. In 2024, he launched the season with a series of disappointing performances and had eight failed cuts during his first 10 departures. At the end of the year, he had six top-25s and no victory.
The last time Matt Kuchar won a tournament on the PGA Tour was in 2019, when he won the Sony Open in Hawaii. He won the tournament with a 22 sous a margin at four times before the finalist. If he wins the classic of John Deere 2025, he will mark his 10th PGA Tour title.
