Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham sat with the club’s own journalists and discussed Xabi Alonso’s training philosophy.
“Xabi is a very nice person, he has an excellent way of talking to the players. For me, which attracts me about him is his energy towards football. He is very active. He moves, he gets involved so that he can see and feel the game better. When you see a trainer like that, you feel attracted by his energy,” said Bellingham.
The English midfielder then shared some reflections on the system that Alonon tries to implement.
“With this new style that we want to play between the lines, we want to have control, but Xabi says that we should not lose the ability to attack the goal when we have the opportunity to speed up the game-we want to take advantage of it. We want to have control during the game,” he added.
Real Madrid has finished a very good performance against Red Bull Salzsburg and will certainly try to do more the same thing when they face Juventus in the round of 16.
