“I think it’s time that you and I sat down and had a good conversation.” Neon revealed the first official trailer for the exquisite film by Joachim Trier entitled Sentimental valuewhich should have won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025 this year. Instead, he won the second prize for the Grand Prix, of which I am happy anyway, because this film deserves any & each price. After the death of their mother, the sisters Nora and Agnes Borg are forced to confront their distant father Gustav, a director formerly famous but almost forgotten. Nora, now a motivated stage actress, prioritized her career, while Angnes has chosen a stable life with a husband, a child and a secure job – which supports their relationship more. Gustav, convinced that an autobiographical scenario he wrote will be his renowned ticket, offers the main role to Nora, but she firmly refuses, encouraging her to throw Hollywood actress Rachel Kemp instead, whom he meets during a retrospective of his films in France.
