Arsenal is trying to sign a new winger this summer, with Nico Williams, Rodrygo Goes and Anthony Gordon having been linked. But they have now put their goal on an agreement for Ademola Lookman.
Arsenal was not very lucky in their efforts to sign a winger, with Williams ready for Barcelona and Rodrygo seeming more likely to stay in Real Madrid. But their fortune could change with Lookman, who will be authorized to leave Atalanta at the right price.
There have been interests expressed by Arsenal Lookman dating from August 2024, but on this occasion, Atalanta managed to keep his services. But this summer, they may not be so lucky.
Arsenal back in talks with Atalanta on Ademola Lookman Deal
Arsenal restarted negotiations with Atalanta for Lookman, and the price requested is set at 45 to 50 million euros plus additional modules. It is clear that the former man of Charlton, Everton and Fulham wants another blow to the Premier League now that he has proven himself in Italy. Liverpool also keeps him an eye, but Arsenal remained the most likely candidates and has now restarted these talks in order to conclude an agreement this summer.
Lookman, who is sought after by the Emirates by the former attacker Ian Wright, scored 20 goals with seven assists in 40 competition games for Atalanta during the 2024-25 season, and a goalscorer will be something that Mikel Arteta wants to add to Arsenal, who is also on the market for a new striker.
Arsenal is currently working on several offers
There are a few different pieces to set up first, because the Gunners are already dealing with complicated negotiations for people like the defender of Valencia Cristhian Mosquera and the prolific attacker of CP Sporting Viktor Gyokerres. For the moment, it remains to be seen if Arsenal can conclude an agreement, but Lookman seems well placed among their targets.
