The national gators champion will be in the green room for the second round of the NBA draft

With the second round of the NBA draft which begins at 8 p.m. Thursday, another former star of Florida Gators and national champion, Alijah Martin, will wait to hear his name called in the Green Hall of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Martin, the second top scorer in Florida, hopes to be the second Gators player to hear his name called in the draft after Walter Clayton Jr., the top scorer in Florida, was selected in the general classification of Utah Jazz in the first round.
The former FAU star only played one season with Todd Golden and the Gators, quickly becoming one of the most important players in their stay. He collected an average of 14.4 points and 4.5 rebounds in 2024, while pulling 45% in the field.
Martin will join a list of 11 names, including the former opponents of Gators, Johni Broome and Koby Brea, as prospects in the Green Hall in the hope of greeting the commissioner on stage after being selected. ESPN lists him as the 28th best player remaining, while their last false recovery selected him 52 at the Phoenix Suns.
Probably being the second selected Gators player, Martin would have announced in particular a pre-Rôti training with UTAH, the same team that selected Clayton and one who has the choices 43 and 53 this evening. Although only an interesting possibility for the moment, the two Florida teammates who accumulate together in the League would undoubtedly be fun for the Gators fans base.
The cover project begins at 8 p.m., with the Minnesota Timberwolves first at the chronometer.
