Klarna now has a mobile phone service. This is yet another new wireless option for you

Klarna, the Swedish Company of Financial Services of Purchase-Now-Pay-Later, presents a mobile phone plan that the company claims that it will promote its 25 million American customers.

Klarna joins forces with Gigs, a San Francisco company which provides mobile virtual network operator services, allowing companies to create their own wireless brands. The MVNOs seem suddenly popular: last week, the Trump organization launched Trump Mobile, with its own phone tinged with gold on the way. And the popular podcast without intelligence, featuring the actors Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, also settled as a wireless supplier.

Klarna’s plan includes a more non -capped 5G service and international roaming for less than $ 50 per month. Klarna will offer its wireless service using AT&T infrastructure.

The company has opened a waiting list for the service, which, according to it, will be launched in a few weeks, with offers similar to the United Kingdom and Germany on the way. Klarna says that she will directly promote her wireless plan via her mobile application. Customers will be able to keep their laptop number and register for the service and manage their account in the Klarna application. Klarna promises that there will be no fees for activating the service or cancellation.

He also recently launched a debit card and has teamed up with Doordash to authorize payment payments on food orders.

What is the next step for Mvnos?

Do not be surprised if other new mobile businesses are appearing this year. The overall virtual network operators should drop from around $ 87 billion to more than $ 148 billion over the next decade.

“It is relatively easy to launch a MVNO – compared to other companies than a brand or a celebrity could consider,” explains Iliya Rybchin, a veteran of the mobile industry who now works as a consultant for BDO USA, an accounting firm. “The economy has improved well in recent years and there are many brands, celebrities and popular influencers who can have the power of the brand to do so.”

These brands and celebrities who have a large number of followers, he says, can use their popularity to help reduce one of the largest costs for wireless businesses: acquisition of customers.

The possibility for new wireless businesses, based on the conversations he has heard, could include sports teams, retailers, video games and car companies, some, he says, could launch non-telephone services or products according to specific needs such as medical clothes or cloud storage.

Those who plan to launch a MVNO, he said, should ask themselves: “Is my brand strong enough and is my fans base faithful enough to bring a few hundred thousand subscribers?”

This seems to be the case, at least for the new service linked to the president: “In the case of Trump Mobile, thousands of people who were walking by holding a gold phone can be as powerful as a brand as a magnet of Maga Rouge. Of course, even the launch alone generates millions of dollars of media value,” said Rybchin.
