New York Yankees returns the rehabilitation assignment launcher

The pitch depth of New York Yankees could potentially receive a boost after falling in 11 innings at the Los Angeles Angels on Monday evening.

On Tuesday, the team announced their return from the launcher to the right JT Brubaker (RIBS) of its rehabilitation mission, during which it posted an MPM of 2.95 on six appearances and 21 1/3 rounds between High-A Hudson Valley, Double-A Somerset and Triple-Acranton / Wilkes-Barre.

The 31 -year -old was with the Yankee Stadium club on Monday, and manager Aaron Boone said he was approaching “potential activation” from the 60 -day injured, according to Brendan Kuty of athletics.

New York has not yet made an official decision on the question of whether he will activate Brubaker and place it on the list of 26 men, or designate it for assignment.

He no longer has minor leagues options, so Yankees cannot send him back to Triple-A without first trying to go through derogations.

If the team chooses to place Brubaker on the list of 26 men, they will have to make a corresponding movement in order to open a place.

After having undergone Tommy John surgery while with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2023, they exchanged it to the Yankees in March 2024. Brubaker underwent an oblique tension during its rehabilitation mission last year and never raised the majors.

In an appearance of training in the spring this year against the Rays of Tampa Bay on February 21, it was revealed that Brubaker had broken three ribs after being struck by a return of the return of Kameron Misner. He was then placed on the 15 -day injured list in March before being transferred to 60 days on April 1.

More than 63 appearances (61 departures) for pirates from 2020 to 2022, Brubaker launched an MPM of 4.99 and 4.43 FIP while withdrawing 324 strikers in 315 2/3 sleeves.
