Now, he is entering the best executive role of golf at a time when the tour sails on fractured relationships with LIV golf and a changing commercial landscape.
“I am honored to join the PGA Tour at such a pivotal time”, ” Rolapp said at the press conference before the tournament.
“The PGA Tour represents the highest level of competition, integrity and global opportunity in the golf game, and I deeply believe in the mission of the tour and its potential to become even stronger.”
Woods echoed this optimism in a post on X later in the morning:
“Congratulations to Brian to become CEO of the PGA Tour. I am delighted to know where the tour heads. And a big thank you to Jay for everything he did for our game and for the players and the fans.”

The appointment of Rolapp follows a unanimous vote by the CEO’s research committee, which included Woods, Scott, Arthur M. Blank, Joe Gorder and Sam Kennedy.
He will be CEO of PGA Tour, Inc. and PGA Tour Enterprises, falling under the two boards of directors, while Jay Monahan remains a commissioner until 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.
Monahan himself called Rolapp “The perfect choice for the next chapter of the PGA Tour,” addition, “His arrival strengthens our management team and reflects our common commitment to the continuous development of the tour.”
ROLAPP, for its part, recognized Woods’s influence during the process, qualifying its involvement as “significant” and praising its dedication to the next generation of players.
With the approval of the Big Cat and Rolapp’s commercial strategies for the PGA Tour clearly bet on a new era.
