At noon, “Cost Plus” arrived in Morehead City, dropping very grateful fishermen falling to their hotel platform.

Paxton Peters says they were in fishing, not part of the tournament, when they noticed gray smoke for the first time in the distance.

“Once we have noticed gray smoke and try to understand what was going on, we started scanning the radio and hearing the radio signal on the radio, and almost at the same time, we noticed that smoke went from gray to black,” Peters told Witn.

The good Samaritan says that when they arrived, the five were already in the water. Peters estimates that they were about 80 kilometers from the coast when it happened.

“No, that’s a first,” explains Peters. “I hope the last one.”
