Report: Grand Slam Track To Cancel the event at the end of the season

The Grand Chelem piece will not touch all the basics of its first season while the Startup League canceled its last event, which will be held in Los Angeles later this month, reported Front Office Sports on Thursday.
The piece of the Grand Chelem finished the events in Kingston, Jamaica (April 4-6), Miami (May 2-4) and Philadelphia (May 31 to June 1), but the event from June 28 to 29 on the UCLA campus will not take place.
The League, which was founded by the quadruple Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson, started with $ 30 million in funding, with $ 12.6 million that will be awarded. These figures indicate that a little more than $ 9 million would have been distributed to competitors during the three games completed so far.
Signs of concern started early. The inaugural event in Jamaica was poorly assisted. Originally planned to be made up of three -day meetings, the Philadelphia event was shortened to two days.
According to the report, sources had indicated to the Sports in front Office that the addition of a new “strategic partner” was part of the reason why the Los Angeles event was canceled. There were also concerns about political tensions following government ice raids in the region.
More information on the future of the Grand Slam track could come from a meeting reported on the staff level which was called on Thursday.
