Murphy’s version of the comic will feature a beauty-enhancing drug instead of the STD from the original comic.
This change from the source material will make it even more similar to American Horror Stories“Facelift” because it will tell a similar story about the maddening quest for beauty and the psychological rot it leaves behind.
“Facelift” is one of the most underrated episodes of American Horror Stories
The “Facelift” is not often classified among the AHS‘ best installments and even holds a disappointing IMDB score of 5.9/10. While the episode isn’t perfect, its warnings about vanity obsession are impactful, and Judith Light’s incredible performance as the protagonist ensures that viewers truly identify with her character’s inner turmoil and gradual descent.
