Karoline Leavitt on WH’s response to Minnesota fraud under Walz – RedState

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt spoke out about the child care fraud that came to light in Minnesota under Democratic Gov. Tim Walz and said, “people will be in handcuffs,” while explaining how all aspects of the administration are involved.

During her Wednesday appearance on Fox and Friends, Leavitt was asked about President Donald Trump’s response to the widespread Somalia fraud uncovered in Minnesota under Walz’s leadership.

“President Trump is not going to let Governor Walz get away with this,” Leavitt said, noting that Trump has long denounced Walz’s incompetence.

Leavitt spoke about the work of independent new media journalists like Nick Shirley and the video he posted that went viral about Minnesota’s empty daycares, revealing that as a result, WH has “increased state resources across the board.”

“This is a top priority for the administration,” the press secretary said. “As we speak, the Department of Justice continues to execute search warrants and subpoenas. People will be in handcuffs as a result of the fraud that @GovTimWalz allowed to happen for many, many years.”

“The Department of Homeland Security is conducting door-to-door field investigations of potential fraud sites, and it also continues to deport illegal aliens in Minnesota communities,” she added.

“We are also not afraid to use denaturalization,” Leavitt continued. “It’s a tool available to the president and the secretary of state, and it’s a tool that this administration has used before. Our entire administration is working around the clock to get to the bottom of this.”

The White House press secretary also pointed out that the entire Trump Cabinet is involved in researching the extent of this fraud in Minnesota’s child care centers, with the Department of Health and Human Services’ recent announcement that it was cutting “all funding to child care centers in the state of Minnesota until” the administration can get to the bottom of the fraud, as RedState reported.

And the Department of Labor is currently investigating the state’s unemployment insurance program.

On Wednesday, my RedState colleague Teri Christoph reported that the Republican House Oversight Committee will soon hold hearings on the fraud revealed in the state.

Christophe wrote:

Chairman James Comer (KY-01) announced Wednesday that his committee will begin holding hearings next week on the growing Somali fraud scandal in Minnesota. The first hearing is scheduled for Jan. 7 and will feature testimony from three Republican Minnesota lawmakers. A second hearing is scheduled for February 10, with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and his Attorney General, Keith Ellison, invited to answer questions from Congress.
