Prominent Indiana lawyer Ken Nunn dies at 85

Having started with a card table and folding chairs in 1967, the Ken Nunn Law Firm is said to be the largest personal injury firm based in Indiana today.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — “Call me, it’s that simple.”
Personal injury lawyer Ken Nunn said this memorable slogan at the end of his commercials. His law firm announced his death in a Facebook post, saying he died on the morning of Wednesday, December 24.
According to the post, Ken founded the Ken Nunn Law Firm in Bloomington in 1967, starting with a card table and folding chairs in his first office.
“From those meager beginnings, Ken was determined to build a successful law firm based on his desire to persevere and strongly believed in always fighting for his clients, no matter the odds,” the post read.
According to the post, Ken’s favorite movie was “To Kill A Mockingbird,” and that story — along with this book — fueled the fire to always fight for his clients.
“Ken will be remembered as a pioneer in the modern practice of injury representation. Ken will be remembered for his love of Indiana University and for IU basketball. Ken will be remembered for the many charities he supported. Most importantly, Ken will be remembered for the legacy he created and the good he brought to his family, his employees and the tens of thousands of people he and his law firm have helped for over 50 years,” the message read.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Vicky Nunn; his son, David Nunn; and his two grandchildren, Katie Nunn and Jimmy Nunn.
According to the post, Vicky – who was inspired by Ken to become a lawyer and has been with the Ken Nunn Law Firm since 2001 – will take over as CEO of the law firm.
In her own Facebook post, Vicky confirmed her father’s death and wrote, “Forever Dad. I had no words yesterday.”
“We loved him so much and looked up to him for guiding us. Dad was ALWAYS there to help, give advice, or just give a hug. Dad, we will forever miss you and love you,” Vicky wrote in the post.
In an Instagram post, Jimmy paid tribute to Ken and said: “My grandfather was the most important person in my life. He had an impact not only on his family and friends, but also on the community.”
According to the Ken Nunn Law Firm, it is the largest personal injury firm based in the state of Indiana, spanning the entire state and serving all 92 counties.
