AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) Jumps 15% on BlueBird 6 Launch on Christmas Eve

The same day, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced that the launch of AST SpaceMobile Inc.’s (NASDAQ:ASTS) BlueBird 6 satellite had been pushed back to Christmas Eve, December 24.

Originally scheduled for launch on December 15, AST SpaceMobile Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) announced earlier this week that liftoff had been pushed back to Sunday, December 21.

ISRO did not disclose the reason for the second postponement.

Compared to BlueBirds 1 to 5, the 6^th This generation includes the largest commercial phased array in low Earth orbit, with an area of ​​almost 2,400 square feet.

It is also nearly four times larger than previous generations and supports 10 times the data capacity.

The December 24 launch aims to enable ubiquitous broadband cellular coverage from space directly to mobile phones.

According to AST SpaceMobile Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS), it would ramp up production of its BlueBird 6 satellites, with a planned expansion of manufacturing at its facilities in Florida and Texas.
