Guy Ritchie’s latest record-breaking drama continues to dominate streaming globally

MobLand hit the ground running with its premiere earlier this year. Guy Ritchie‘s latest crime drama launched with 2.2 million viewers for the first episode. The number would increase over the following weeks, making it one of the biggest shows on Paramount+. More than six months after the season 1 finale, MobLand remained in the top 10 of Paramount+ as viewers continue to understand the story. Additionally, the series has been added to other international streaming services, making it accessible to an even wider base. Streaming data from FlixPatrol shows the series is replicating its Paramount+ success on platforms including HBO Max, Prime Video, Apple TV Store and Claro Video.

MobLandThe first Paramount+ figurine was successful the biggest premiere world series on the platform, behind only national successes like Landman And 1923. Seven days later, the pilot episode saw its audience increase by 298%, reaching 8.8 million viewers worldwide. The latest viewing figures released by Paramount in July 2025 put the show at 26 million viewers, making it the second most popular Paramount+ series of all time.

Chris McCarthyCo-CEO of Paramount and Chairman of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, said in announcing the show’s renewal:

MobLand became a resounding triumph carried by the creative genius of Guy, Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett]And David C. Glasserand brought to life by the powerful performances of Tommy [Hardy], Drill [Brosnan]And Helene [Mirren]. We’re delighted to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has topped the national and international charts and reached number one in the UK. »

What to expect in ‘MobLand’ season 2

While Season 1’s story focused on London’s crime families and other players, the series gradually expanded its scope and introduced international cast members. Hardy said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the story could expand to more countries in future seasons. He explained:

“There are international elements to organized crime, which are covered in season 1 and the control of drugs, munitions, weapons and people and all sorts of things that flow through Europe and from Africa to South America, Pakistan and variable goods that move through Europe.”

However, the immediate problem after the explosive season finale is how the Harrigans regain control. MobLand also stars Janet McTeer (Kat), Joanne Froggatt (Jan Da Souza), Lara Pulver (Bella Harrigan), Geoff Bell (Richie Stevenson), Jasmine Jobson (Zosie), Mandeep Dhillon (Séraphina Harrigan), Anson Boon (Eddie Harrigan), Emmett J. Scanlan (Paul), and Daniel Bett (Brendan Harrigan).
